The Firefighters Burn Institute has added Ferrell’s in Sacramento as a location for its annual “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive. Firefighters will be at the restaurant’s Watt Avenue location February 13-15 from 11am to 1pm, in conjunction with National Burn Awareness Week.
To make a difference, you need only drop whatever donation is comfortable to you into one of the fireman boots on site. The annual fundraiser is the single most important source of donations for the Firefighters Burn Institute. Dozens of burn recovery, education, prevention, scholarship and burn care programs depend of the success of the annual “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive event.
“Farrell’s in Sacramento is proud to be a part of this incredible event,” said Farrell’s Event Coordinator Kristi Amerson. “It’s one of many ways, throughout the year, that we do our part to make a difference right here at home.”
The Firefighters Burn Institute is a non-profit 501c3 organization founded by the Sacramento Area Firefighters local 522 in 1973, to establish a local burn treatment facility. The Institute provides recovery programs for burn survivors, provides fire and burn prevention information, funds education for burn team professionals, firefighters and burn survivors, and supports burn treatment and rehabilitation research.
Aside from the Boot Drive at Farrell’s, there are many “satellite” Boot Drives throughout northern and central California that benefit the Firefighters Burn Institute. For a Boot Drive location near you, contact Rachel Crowell at 916-739-8525.
Farrell’s is located at 1625 Watt Avenue in Sacramento.
