I’ll never forget the first time I saw the original Jurassic Park on the big screen, back in 1994. The movie’s third act, with the kids and the velociraptors in the kitchen, left me cowering in my seat. I was almost under it.

I had a similar reaction when I saw 2015’s Jurassic World. “The assets are out of containment.” My heart almost stopped.

I’m bracing myself again this year, thanks to the geniuses at Feld Entertainment. Their Jurassic World Live Tour, a family entertainment experience, will debut in Sacramento June 25-28.

Blue and the other raptors will be in Sacramento during this all-new arena tour, as will his larger buddy Tyrannosaurus Rex. He’s more than 40 feet long and will leap from the big screen to the Golden 1 Center floor, I’m told. And — sweet Jesus — Indominous Rex will be in Sac Town, too.

Jurassic World Live Tour features more than 20 film-accurate, LIFE SIZED, custom built dinosaurs. The animatronic and performer-operated dinosaurs deliver edge-of-your-seat excitement. The film’s classic John Williams score is featured in the show, ramping up the thrills.

“Working with a world-class production team and Universal filmmakers, we have extended the Jurassic World canon with a new story that can only be told through this live, arena spectacular as we bring full-scale dinosaurs to generations of fans around the globe,” said Juliette Feld Grossman, Chief Operating Officer of Feld Entertainment, in a prepared statement.

“We have maximized the power of everything we do at Feld Entertainment, pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation to ensure audiences have an authentic, awe-inspiring experience. Fans will leave with a sense of wonder, as if they’ve boarded the boat to Isla Nublar and literally stepped into Jurassic World.”

That is all well and good, but let’s keep it real: Grossman is being paid to tell you that. I’m not on Feld Entertainment’s payroll, and I am telling you, having seen just a brief preview of this show, that if you’re a fan of either film — Jurassic World or Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomyou need to be at Golden 1 Center this June!
