Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is expected to be off the basketball court for six to nine month as he receives surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon, according to an article on ESPN.com.

Bryant reportedly underwent surgery this past Saturday to repair the torn tendon in his left leg. According to the team, the plan is for Bryant to begin playing again in the beginning of the 2013-2014 season.
