The United Negro College Fund/Northern California (UNCF) will host the Mayor’s Luncheon on STEM Education on May 17, 2013, in partnership with Mayor Kevin Johnson and AT&T in Sacramento.

The luncheon will feature a panel discussion between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) industry leaders and local education communities focusing on successful instructional practices and models that are increasing the number of college-bound minority students who are poised to enter and succeed in STEM college programs and ultimately STEM-based careers.

UNCF has developed partnerships with Mayors nationwide to host a series of luncheons to be a catalyst for public dialogue and long-term engagement with local communities, nationally, and regionally as key stakeholders in the national and regional education reform dialogue concerning minority degree attainment.

The luncheon will take place May 17 from 12 noon to 1:30pm, with an 11:30am VIP reception, at the Sacramento Convention Center, 1400 J St. Tickets are $75 each.
