When Jennifer Lopez set out to plan and document her first world tour a few years ago, she imagined putting together “a great little fan book” with “pictures and anecdotes” — something light and fun.
But at the time, Lopez, 45, had recently split from Marc Anthony, her third husband and father of her now 6-year-old twins, Max and Emme. “I was travelling as a single mom for the first time,” she says, and started thinking “about how autobiographical my music was, about what had happened at different times in my life when I made that music.”
Those experiences “became part of the show,” and True Love (Celebra), released this week, evolved from a tour memento into something more personal — a reflection on “my choices, in love and in my life.”
