Darrell Teat, Managing Director, Emerging Markets – The Nehemiah Companies was presented with the 2015 Father of the Year Award on June 17th, benefiting American Diabetes Association at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento.
“Coaching Jayden’s team” (9 year old son), “watching Tejah’s dance competition” (11 year old daughter), “running to the store for groceries”, or “watching a family movie” is typically one of the responses you will receive if you call Darrell after 7:00pm on a weekday or at any point during the weekend. Always right next to him will be Laneisha (better known as “Neisha”), his amazing wife of 14 years.
Darrell serves as Managing Director of Emerging Markets for The Nehemiah Companies, a national social enterprise focused on enhancing prosperity in underserved communities through real estate development and financial services. A graduate of Santa Clara University and Drexel University, Lebow College of Business, Darrell has seen first-hand the challenges family members have faced when living with Diabetes, and is constantly reminded of how important to continue the research to ultimately stop Diabetes.
Darrell was recognized with a feature article in the Black Men In Leadership Special Edition issue of THE HUB Magazine Summer 2010.
