In an intimate exhibition The Queen’s Chair will launch an exceptional collection of oversized handbags. The affluent collection is comprised of distinctive fabrics and hand picked textiles from around the Globe. Each statement piece tells its own ecliptic story and has been meticulously crafted into individual art pieces. The collection has been designed for both women and men here and abroad who want authentic timeless pieces. A blend of afro centric traditions and multiple eras, emulates a style that has become exclusive to “The Queen.”
The Queen’s handbags and jewelry has been showcased across the globe and has graced the pages of several magazines as well as runways. She has had the pleasure of working with some of the World’s renowned photographers, designers and stunning models in the fashion industry. This year working along side photographer Vincent Gotti, her vision and his creativity caught the attention of Focus Magazine in New York City and landed her on the cover. This opportunity also allowed her an editorial debut of “The Queen’s Chair, Variant Collection.”
While growing up watching her mother create masterpieces on a peddle sewing machine, it was then Frances was determined to learn how to sew. While kids were outside playing, she was in the house making patterns out of newspaper and paper bags. Her obsession of creating one of kind pieces became her guilty pleasure. Her creations were viewed as outside the box and put her in a lane of her own.
Her God mother would later introduce her to the art of upholstering furniture while her mother in-law, a professional seamstress, would open her up to a whole new world of opportunities. It wasn’t until years later that she discovered that her artistry was ahead of her time and her timeless pieces caught the attention of everyone she’s encountered including astounding designer Maisha Bahati. Maisha Bahati will be a special guest of the evening and will showcase her must have Holiday/Fall Collection.
After years of taking care of her ailing father it was his words of wisdom and comfort that would later be the incentive for her to turn years of hard work and passion into actuality. Her fearlessness and individuality would later be the foundation of her being and the inception of “The Queen’s Chair.
