The Black United Fund of Sacramento Valley will be holding a grassroots fundraising workshop on April 1.
The workshop is part of “Growing Our Own: Nonprofit Development Initiative,” with the overarching mission and vision of the initiative is to build, nurture, and sustain nonprofit organizations that in turn strengthen communities by becoming integral to local economies and social service networks.
The goals of the program are unique to the needs of communities challenged by economic, educational, political and social inequalities, including stimulating new start-up nonprofits in diverse and disadvantaged communities, and promoting practices necessary to move nonprofits from the start-up phase to long-term sustainability.
The grassroots fundraising workshop will be held Monday, April 1, from 6-8pm, at the Oak Park United Methodist Church, 3600 Broadway in Sacramento. This workshop covers 20 ways to build your organization’s bank account before staging a big fundraiser.
RSVP is required — seating is limited to 25. To attend, please RSVP to Faye at fayek@springmail.com.
