by Chief Editor, Pleshette Robertson

So I opened an e-mail last month early December to receive a wonderful and very SUPRISING letter from the California Legislative Black Caucus with the following:

“…each year we honor members of the community. This year we are having an Unsung Heroes Breakfast and Ceremony to honor trailblazers of positive change in the Black community.  Assemblymember Jim Cooper would like to honor you as District 9 Unsung Hero for your work with the Sac Cultural Hub.  You (Pleshette Robertson) will be recognized at the CLBC’s Martin Luther King Breakfast on January 11th at 8:00 am at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria and on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol the next day, January 12th at 9:00 am.”

WHOOOOOWHEEEEE I WAS ESTATIC! Like, for-realz … the California Legislative Black Caucus is recognizing MOI! I’m so EXCITED as I will have the opportunity to meet Donna Brazile, veteran Democratic political strategist who will be the keynote speaker and I will also receive a copy of her recent best seller, Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House.  THIS IS SO BIG and such GREAT NEWS! And, I am so greatful and HONORED to be selected as one of the 2018 Unsung Heroes Honoree.

GOD IS GOOD and starting me off on a good foot as we begin the New Year 2018!
