A citywide diaper drive, hosted by the group “Think, Shop, Live Elk Grove” will be held Saturday, September 15, to help local families and babies in need, according to a press release issued by the City of Elk Grove.
The diaper drive will be held from 9am-5pm in front of the buybuy Baby at 7507 Laguna Blvd.in Elk Grove. The goal is to collect 12,000 diapers, which will be donated to local nonoprofit Chicks in Crisis.
Diapers of any size and brand will be accepted. Diapers will also be available for purchase and donation, and monetary donations will also be accepted. And reportedly the person or group that donates the most diapers will receive two tickets to the Carrie Underwood concert on October 13 at Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento.
This is the second in a series of “Think, Shop, Live Elk Grove” programs designed to encourage residents to support their local community by donating and spending locally. In April, the group’s volunteers collected more than 15,000 pounds of dog food to benefit the Elk Grove Food Bank.
