On September 5, the Bay Area Black Expo LLC honored its 2012 “Magnificent 7” award recipients during the Magnificent 7 Awards Gala. These seven people were selected for making significant contributions and demonstrating commitment to the Bay Area community. Awardeees were among names submitted by the public-at-large.
The 2012 “Magnificent 7” are:
- Lionel Bea, Producer, Bay Area Productions (Entertainment)
- Gay Blair Cobb, Chief Exec. Dir., Oakland Private Industry Council (Business/Career Development)
- Celestino Ellington, Sports & Recreation Director, Bay View YMCA SF (Fitness)
- Romeo Garcia, Co-Founder/Executive Director, ARISE High School (Personal Development)
- Gina Gregory-Burns, M.D., Internist, Chief of Diversity/AAHI-SFO, Co-chair, Community Benefit Advisory Board-SFO, Co-chair, NCAL Regional Diversity Council (Health)
- Bill Thomason, CEO and Mentor of Wall Street Wizards (Financial)
- Dorris Vincent, Community Advocate, Bay View Hunters Point (Community Giving)
