Sacramento, Calif.DOCO (Downtown Commons), the Sacramento Kings, Golden 1 Center and local store owner Brent “Trayce” Sands are excited to announce the official opening of Impound Comics on Friday, August 6, located on the main plaza (next to Echo & Rig).

Throughout the store, shoppers will findImpound! comic books, a popular series that follows single father and aspiring MMA fighter Anthony “Impound” Endsley, who encounters several chaotic events that transform him into Sacramento’s first superhero. Inspired to create a compelling story that captures the diverse culture of the capital city – with nods to Marvel, Mortal Kombat and Star Wars – the creator/writer Sands spent more than a year developing backstories, motives and powers of each character. Additionally, four artists helped illustrate the popular series and a talented local artist, BrandonAlxnder, helped to bring the character to life on murals throughout the city.As the series unfolds, many of Sacramento’s iconic landmarks and points-of-pride emerge. The comic book series has also gained a significant number of enthusiasts from New York (known as the nation’s “comic capital”).

The shop also offers other comic books “in the Impound universe,” highlighting additional characters that will creatively cross paths in the future.

Designed to generate an immediate, immersive experience, Impound Comics is vibrantly decorated with eye-catching artwork by local artists and features action figures (made from Legos®) on display in the store. Impound Comics also offers children’s books, branded merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, coffee mugs and key chains, and has tablets available to play interactive video games.
