Maxwell & Marsha Ambrosius left it ALL on the stage for the “50 Intimate Nights” LIVE Tour! It was their 26th show that took place at the GSR Grand Theatre in Reno, NV. The venue is breath-taking- featuring luxurious seats, an orchestra pit, VIP booth with personal bottle service and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system.

Marsha Ambrosius opened the show and boy did she get the night started! She looked absolutely STUNNING wearing a two-piece sequined teal suit and her signature big hair. She belted out all of her hits in a soultry way that only Marsha can. She seduced our ears with some of her greatest hits, including “Butterflies”, “Late Night/Early Morning”, “Say Yes” and “Far Away”. She also paid tribute to musical legends Earth Wind & Fire and Prince. At the end of her set, she humbly thanked all of us and she received a well-deserved standing ovation. So no….thank YOU Marsha!!

There was a brief intermission, and then…..there was Maxwell. OMG. The stage was pitch black for about 30 seconds while old audio clips of disc jockeys played in the background. It brought back that good ole’ feeling of when “The Quiet Storm” use to air late nights on the radio. As Maxwell started to serenade us with his hit, “Pretty Wings”, the lights came up and we all braced ourselves because we knew that we were in for one heck of a ride!

His all male band and only background singer, LaTina Webb were AMAZING. Every note was to perfection and their artistry was second to none.

Maxwell is a true entertainer. He had one wardrobe change and performed a couple of his new hits, including “Shame”. However, the real icing on the cake was when he took us all back down memory lane singing his most sexy hits from the 90’s which included, “When The Cops Come Knockin”, “Sumthin Sumthin”, and “This Woman’s Work”. And who knew that he could dance?! He gave us all of his Haitian and Puerto Rican mixed flavor as he showed off his moves throughout the night.

Maxwell’s performance took us all on an emotional rollercoaster…..he made us dance. He made us embrace. He just made everyone feel good. REALLY good. He’s been going strong for 27 years, and from what we experienced, he will certainly not be stopping anytime soon!

The next time one of your favorite artists is performing at the Grand Sierra Theatre, do yourself a favor…..GO! The entire venue and the atmosphere will leave you with a concert experience that you will NEVER forget!
