For the third time since the California State Fair’s cancellation, SMUD is partnering with Cal Expo, Fox 40 and iHeartRadio to give back to the community with a community e-waste drive. Businesses and residents can bring their e-waste to the Cal Expo Main Gate and drop it off free of charge. Proceeds benefit the Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps, Sacramento’s largest education and workforce training program.
Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps works to enrich the lives of young adults by providing a development program, integrating education, job skills training and work experience on conservation projects and service opportunities that benefit the entire region.

The Sacramento Regional Conservation Corps (SRCC) is a non-profit organization transforming lives of Sacramento Region’s young adults through education, paid work experience, job placement and overall support. The SRCC was established in 1984 by the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce to provide an opportunity for 18 – 26-year-old young adults to acquire educational achievement and paid work experience. The SRCC improves communities in the Sacramento region by engaging young adults in a values-based approach to defining success.
