Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) and The Sacramento Press will host the first “Eat to Feed the Hungry” from February 20-26. Through using social media, community members are asked to “check in” virtually to every local restaurant they go to. A number of Sacramento eateries, such as Ella, Zocalo, Ink Eats & Drinks, and Cafeteria 15L, have all pledged to donate $1 to SFBFS for every guest that checks in. Guests can also double the $1 donation by wearing their “Run to Feed the Hungry” shirt or taking a photo of themselves and posting it on Facebook. All proceeds from the event will help SFBFS purchase food for seniors and children and provide educational resources to parents.
