We now have 36 states that recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or state holiday observance. If you live in a state that does not recognize Juneteenth as a state holiday or state holiday observance, contact the Chairman of the National Juneteenth Holiday Campaign – Dr. Ronald V. Myers at 662-247-3364 or e-mail: juneteenthDOC@yahoo.com, so you can receive information on how to get in contact with your state representative or state senator and our Juneteenth State Director.

In some states, a state representative or state senator has already agreed to sponsor your state’s legislation for Juneteenth. In states where we do not have a committed state legislator. You should approach your member of the state legislature to support Juneteenth legislation. It can be in the form of a resolution or bill.
