CLBC-California Legislative Black Caucus Announces their launches $250,000 Scholarship Campaign for At-Risk Students

Assemblymember Sandré R. Swanson, Chair of the California Legislative Black
Caucus (CLBC) announced today that the Black Caucus is now accepting
scholarship applications for its new scholarship program. The CLBC Youth
Leadership Scholarship Program is accepting the first round of applications
during the month of April. The two thousand dollar ($2,000) scholarships for
at-risk students will support students attending college this year. Over the
next year, the Black Caucus plans to distribute two hundred and fifty
thousand dollars ($250,000) through its scholarship program in support of
developing new leadership for our community.

The scholarships will be awarded to students with a strong commitment to
community who are also attending a four-year colleges and universities,
two-year community colleges, or vocational/technical schools. Application
requirements include personal statements regarding leadership and community
service, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and a signed application.
