The Sacramento Area Black Caucus presents 2009 Scholarship Recipients. "To Be Young Gifted & Black" – In memory of the late Rosenwald "Robbie" Robertson & Cheryl Ann Fisher.   Each year the Sacramento Area Black Caucus awards $500.00 academic scholarships to local high school and college students. Please join the Sacramento Area Black Caucus in congratulating these outstanding scholars for their academic achievements and wishing them the best as they continue their studies.

  • Akousa Burr, is a freshman in the nursing program at CSUS. 
  • Marcus Jackson: a senior at Sheldon High School, he plans to attend Arizona State University and major in engineering/astronautics.
  • Jazzie Johnson: a sophomore at UCLA majoring Obstetric Nursing.
  • Patrice Brazier: a freshman at CSUS majoring in Nursing.
  • Marissa Thomas, a senior at Franklin High School, she plans to attend San Diego State University and major in civil engineering.
  • Alexzander Gaither, a junior at CSUS majoring in Music.

CONGRATULATIONS to these young people for choosing to seek higher education and achieving their academic goals.
