Judge LaDoris Cordell (retired) will speak at the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) in San Jose on Saturday, October 1st.  Judge Cordell is a 1974 graduate of Stanford Law School.  A native of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, she has resided in California since 1971. For five years, she practiced law in East Palo Alto, California, a predominately African American and Mexican American community, establishing herself as the first lawyer to open a private law practice there.  Judge Cordell is currently serving as the Independent Police Auditor in the City of San Jose.

The mission of the Silicon Valley Chapter of NFBPA is embodied in the organization’s commitment to strengthen the position of Blacks and diverse publics within the field of public administration; to increase the number of blacks and diverse individuals appointed to executive positions in public service organizations; and, to groom and prepare younger, aspiring administrators for advanced public management posts in the years ahead.
