A star was born: Sacramento woman celebrates 100th birthday with song
Ask anyone who has heard her sing, and they will tell you: Rhoda Wilson-Jackson is a star. But it is not only her voice that is making her shine. She just turned 100 years old!
KCRA 3 was at her big birthday bash Thursday night at Journey Ministries in Sacramento. Dozens of family members and friends gathered to celebrate Wilson-Jackson’s life and legacy.
Wilson-Jackson was born on June 22, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. Back then, a gallon of gas cost around $0.14 and it was when the first issue of TIME Magazine was published. A lot has changed since then, and Wilson-Jackson has had a front-row seat to history.
