As we enjoy the recent resurgence of President Barack Obama on the national political scene, it appears that, as always, Mrs. Obama is right there with him!
First, she announces a rock star-level national speaking tour, including a December stop in San Jose. The tour, dubbed An Intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama, is in support of her forthcoming memoir, Becoming, to be published on November 13.
“Writing Becoming has been a deeply personal experience,” Obama said via Twitter. “I talk about my role and how a girl from the South Side found her voice. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story.”
Then, Obama speaks out about voter apathy at a rally in Las Vegas last weekend, encouraging attendees to register.
“Our vote matters. It always does,” Obama said. “But only if we use that vote.”
