Adam Sandler’s next Netflix film Sandy Wexler is getting an infusion of both diversity and Oscar-winning talent in Jennifer Hudson.

The Dreamgirls star will play the female lead in the romantic comedy, set in the 1990s. Her character, Courtney Clarke, is a singer discovered by a talent agent, played by Sandler.

The film is the third of a four-movie pact between Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions and Netflix. The first, 2015’s The Ridiculous 6, made headlines when many of its Native American actors quit the Western, citing its negative portrayal of Apache culture.
