Kendrick Lamar was the big winner at this year’s BET AWards with with best new artist and male hip hop artist awards, according to an article on LATimes.com.
Other winners included Rihanna for best female R&B/pop artist, Mary Mary for best gospel artist, and Kerry Washington for best actress. Additionally, Dwayne Wade won the Humanitarian Award, and Charlie Wilson was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Broadcasted last night, the 3 1/2 hour show reportedly featured performances by Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Miguel and J. Cole. Additionally, the show was part of the three-day BET Experience, which took over LA Live with a festival atmosphere and included huge names like Beyonce and R. Kelly.
