“Beliefs” — a new art exhibition opening at the SMUD building in Sacramento — opens this Friday, featuring the work of 13 Sacramento area artists exploring their belief systems.

The exhibition showcases artwork in a variety of media, including paintings, mixed media, ceramic and digital painting, all of which explore belief systems, which is the focus of this year’s SMUD Awareness Series Program. The series, sponsored by SMUD’s Office of Inclusion, is designed to expose and educate SMUD employees about the beliefs of their colleagues and the community they serve.

“Beliefs” will open with a free opening reception where the public can meet the artists on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 4-6pm. Then the exhibit officially opens Friday, October 25, 2013, and runs until January 22, 2014, at SMUD, 6301 S Street, in Sacramento. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm.
