President Barack Obama has recently introduced a new set of ideas to rethink the way in which we pay for higher education.
His plan includes paying colleges and students for performance, including developing a new college ratings system for comparing value among schools, as well as financial aid. Other facets of the plan including challenging colleges to offer students a greater range of affordable, high-quality options and to use technology to redesign courses and provide student services.
And the plan also looks to help students manage loan debt by allowing student loan borrowers to cap payments at 10 percent of their monthly income.
