ESPN will award “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts with its Arthur Ashe Courage Award at is annual ESPY awards this summer, according to an article on TheGrio.com.
According to the article, Roberts is being awarded for how she kept TV viewers involved in her treatments for breast cancer in 2007 and a bone marrow transplant for a rare blood disorder last year.
Roberts came to ABC from ESPN, where she was reportedly the network’s first black female sportscaster.
