Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 8-14, 2013, and the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) wants families in need to know about its free educational classes for parents where they can earn diapers they need for their children.

Through SFBFS’ Parent Education program, parents that enroll in the free classes earn credits called “baby bucks” upon completion, which they can use in the Baby Bucks Boutique to purchase diapers and other items. Last year, SFBFS distributed 110,111 diapers to families in need. All diapers are distributed free of charge to families in need and are made possible through support of community members and donations from the National Diaper Bank Network.

If you know of a family in need of diapers, please encourage them to attend an upcoming orientation for SFBFS’ Parent Education program on Tuesday, September 10, at 10am in North Sacramento, or Friday, September 13 at 9am in Oak Park.

And if you would like to help SFBFS, consider hosting a diaper drive or making a contribution to SFBFS’ virtual diaper drive.
