Vintage Photo McClatchy High School Auditorium

C.K. McClatchy High School’s Visual & Performing Arts Program will be holding a black tie event on January 20, 2018 to celebrate the grand opening of its new 800-seat, state-of-the-art iconic theater and Visual and Performing Arts wing. The CKM VAPA Gala will feature student performances in music, theater and dance with a silent auction showcasing local spotlight artists, unique and limited release items from Sacramento businesses and commemorative Gala swag. Light food and drink will be served.

This renovation is the first for the 80-year old, art deco theater and features statement lighting, original stained glass windows, plush seating, state-of-the-art sound and light systems, and a retractable stage. Rainforth Grau Architects endeavored to maintain the theater’s historical integrity restoring the original mosaic entry ceiling and retrofitting with pendant lighting.

Tickets are on sale now through Eventbrite. Please join the next generation of students in music, theater, art and dance for what will certainly be a memorable and historic first night in the new theater.

January 20, 2018
Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Performance begins at 7:00 p.m.
