Gary Martin has been named the new executive director of Access Sacramento as of July 1, 2013.

Martin is replacing E.D. Ron Cooper, who will be officially leaving the organization on August 1 after a 30-day transition period.

Martin is the department chair and profess or radio, TV and film at Cosumnes River College. He has been with the program since 1993 and prior to his teaching career in broadcast television, he worked as a newscast producer at KXTV News10 in Sacramento, weekend managing editor at KTSP in Phoenix, and senior newscast producer at KTVN in Reno.

He was the vice chair of the Access Sacramento Board of Directors, but requested a voluntary leave of absense from the Board during the ED search process commencing in October 2012.

Access Sacramento is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation that creates and manages television programming for two community access cable channels in Sacramento County. Programs are seen on Comcast and SureWest cable channels 17 and 18, and AT&T U-verse on channel 99.
