John Legend went home to his alma mater and delivered a funny, moving and musical commencement address at the University of Pennsylvania. He even sang a few bars.
“And now ‘all of you, are so over me, you’re tired of hearing that I went to Penn. Why’d they bring him back again?’ ” he sang, to the tune of All of Me.
His address on Monday focused on love as the key to his success and happiness. He gave a shout-out to Kanye West and to new wife Chrissy Teigan. He said love conquers the kind of fear that led to the death of Trayvon Martin and the kidnapping of 300 Nigerian girls.
