While states around the country have been scaling back or canceling their state fairs altogether due to budget cuts over the last few years, the California State Fair has recognized the best in the Golden State for more than 160 years. The fair opens today at Cal Expo in Sacramento, and runs through July 27th.
It’s all here: the midway, the livestock, the phenomenal Toyota Concert Series…and, of course, the FOOD! We’ll be posting features throughout the next two weeks on the Fair and it’s many must-see attractions. Opening weekend’s a GREAT time to visit, and the weather is supposed to be quite mild today and tomorrow with highs in the low 90s. However, if you can wait until Tuesday, Wells Fargo is sponsoring Kids Free Tuesdays, with children 12 and under being admitted for FREE!
