La Familia Counseling Center is recruiting youth for their Out of School program, Collaboration for Success.
The program is a comprehensive, year-long training program designed to provide participants the support needed to become self sufficient and succeed in life. The program offers low income youth ages 17-21 the opportunity to gain 225 hours paid work experience (WEX) and pursue advanced training.
Program participants also receive employment workshops on resume building, interview skills and job search techniques. Plus participants have access to education support including assessment and assistance with college application and financial aid, GED preparation, assistance with attaining a GED or high school diploma, vocational training opportunities, basic life skills workshops, and tutorial support.
To be eligible for the program, youth must be between the ages of 17-21, be low income, are not currently enrolled in an educational institution, and must commit to participate in a one-year program and follow up activities.
