Taste Burger Patch’s Shocking Patriotic Milkshakes!

By Michael P Coleman

Just in time for the celebration of Independence Day, Burger Patch is offering delicious red, white, and blue milkshakes that are shockers! Well, one version, the one that’s vanilla, is red, white, and blue. Predictably, the chocolate version is, predictably, red, brown, and blue. The “red” and “blue” in those shakes come by way of raspberries and blueberries.

After the first sip, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the chocolate version of the shake paired with those berries. By the fourth sip, I was sold. The vanilla version was delicious from the first, frigid, thick drop.

Burger Patch’s new, season milkshakes are shocking because there’s actually no “milk” in them. They’re 100% plant based, having been made with cashews, I’m told. You may want to keep that factoid a secret from the kids. To paraphrase a classic breakfast cereal commercial, you’re the only one who has to know!

All of Burger Patch’s menu items are plant based, in fact. So if you’re craving a fast food-style burger and fries, and you ate so many ribs etc. during the holiday weekend that you want to try to get back on track (present company included), give their burgers a shot.

But trust and believe that you won’t come back from that. They. Are. Delicious!

I’m told that the patriotic shakes will be available through the holiday and until supplies last.

This writer’s favorite Burger Patch location is in Midtown, at 2301 K Street. Check out their menu at burgerpatch.com
